Commissioner for Agriculture
"My vision is to transform the state into an agribusiness, food production, agro-processing, and marketing hub of Nigeria."
Dr. Ben Odoemena was appointed Commissioner for Agriculture in May 2026. He has unveiled a strategic framework to revitalise the agricultural sector through four interwoven pillars: private sector investment, irrigation-led production, competitive agricultural value chains, and an efficiency delivery and investment unit. He emphasises transforming agriculture from subsistence farming to a complete agribusiness support sector.
